Do you ever study with others, in a group or with a partner? And can you tell me why you do or why you don't study with others?

yo yo! Got a short interview for a project im working on, wanna help me out? :)
Sure, ask away!
Can you briefly describe how you would study for a test?
Usually I just rewrite my notes and draw diagrams and quite frankly talk to myself out loud
What are some difficulties or challenges you face when you are studying?
I have a poor attention span, so I need to be talking / writing / drawing to stay somewhat focused
Is there a setting of environment that you find helps you focus more? And could you briefly describe it?
Yes, moderately busy / noisy spaces. I can't study in silence.
Okay just got one more question for you!
Do you ever study with others, in a group or with a partner? And can you tell me why you do or why you don't study with others?
Yes, conversations are more memorable to me rather than memorizing notes. And there is a level of accountability when we all have the same objective
Appreciate it a bunch! ramens on me next time

My guy Jesse, I got a short interview for a project im working on, wanna help me out? :)
YoYo, ya of course I'll help you out!
Can you briefly describe how you would study for a test?
I need to know what the test is about, what are the types of questions on the test, what I can bring to the test, then I do practice problems to make sure I know my stuff
What are some difficulties or challenges you face when you are studying?
Biggest challenge is starting my study sessions, I get overwhelmed at the beginning and build anxiety before I start. Once I start though, I can get pretty locked in.
Is there a setting of environment that you find helps you focus more? And could you briefly describe it?
The best environment for me is somewhere quiet, warm and cozy with drinks and snacks, and close to a washroom. Lots of space around me helps too
Ight, last question and we're done !
Do you ever study with others, in a group or with a partner? And can you tell me why you do or why you don't study with others?
Group study is invaluable and should be used to prepare for any test/exam. However it should not replace solo studying. group studying allows you to find weak points or blind spots you have and also build and reaffirm knowledge you do have.
Imma go do a Muay Thai class, but let me know if you need other answers.
Nice! thanks for answering the question man, ill hit you up if anything else comes up!

Heyyyyyy!!!
I have a short interview for a project im working on, wanna help me out? :)
Hey Hey!!
Ask away!
Can you briefly describe how you would study for a test?
Reviewing notes, memorizing key formulas and facts, and creating tabs for sections of key information that is covered in the test
What are some difficulties or challenges you face when you are studying?
Being able to focus on the content and understanding certain information
Is there a setting of environment that you find helps you focus more? And could you briefly describe it?
A quiet space with minimal distractions of interruptions
Last question!
Do you ever study with others, in a group or with a partner? And can you tell me why you do or why you don't study with others?
Yes, because you can quiz each other and ask questions, they may have an answer for or understand something I don't.
Thanks so much for the help!! :)
No problem :)

Salut!

Hola!
For the course you were telling me about? Sure I'll help you out!
Yup, that one!
Alrighty
Can you briefly describe how you would study for a test?
I write out important definitions/concepts then go over them and whatever I don't remember then I rewrite until I do
What are some difficulties or challenges you face when you are studying?
Procrastination LOL
Is there a setting of environment that you find helps you focus more? And could you briefly describe it?
I like listening to music in a quiet place in a comfy chair
Okay just got one more question!
Do you ever study with others, in a group or with a partner? And can you tell me why you do or why you don't study with others?
I see the benefits in terms of repeating knowledge and getting things explained in a different way but I prefer going solo just because it can be distracting plus you can do it on you own schedule
Thanks for answering my lil questionnaire!
Study Habit interviews
On average, people spend about 9 years in school, totaling nearly 80,000 hours. It's important to foster positive learning habits early on. Challenges like test anxiety, learning new skills, and procrastination affect many—about 20% of adults and over 50% of university students. To better understand these issues, I interviewed four individuals about their study habits and coping strategies, categorizing insights with an empathy map for deeper understanding.

Excerpt from the interviews

Peer to Peer

In designing platforms for collaborative learning, I explored various features like individual study spaces, group study rooms, chatrooms, and statistics. My research highlighted that while independent study suits some, collaborative efforts often lead to greater achievements due to diverse perspectives. Peer-to-peer learning emerged as a valuable approach, fostering knowledge sharing and connections among like-minded peers, beneficial both academically and professionally. This collaborative method not only enhances study skills but also prepares individuals for future success.

Site Mapping

This site map reflects findings from earlier competitive analysis. Key landing page features—Chat Rooms, Solo Study, Study Rooms, Study Helper, Leaderboard, Goals/Tasks—are outlined in dark grey. Each main page details core functions, guiding user journey and flow, serving as the website blueprint.

Design Decision

In my research, I focused on how platforms handled collaboration, particularly emphasizing peer collaboration. The 'Study Helper' page in Studio Study became central, facilitating peer pairing and fostering collaborative learning on shared topics. I developed a user flow to guide this process and used it to design the platform comprehensively.

Low - Fidelity

Studio Study's design began with low-fidelity wireframes, focusing on key categories from the site map. These frames, including those for the Study Helper user flow, visually mapped out interactions between pages. This initial low-fidelity user flow stage is crucial for starting the prototyping process and understanding page dynamics.
First website prototype
In this phase, the prototype focused on the 'Study Helper' feature and its usability. Low-fidelity frames evolved into high-fidelity ones to test navigation and functionality as if using the final site.
With changes to the design, graphic updates, layout organization, and user flow optimization, the high-fidelity prototype reached its final form. Through the culmination of all these efforts, I would greatly appreciate your participation in testing the final prototype!

Overall Thoughts

Studio Study successfully achieved the goals I had set out for when starting on this project. Developing a program in which emphasis is placed on facilitating meaningful connections for peer-to-peer learning would be a beneficial program for many individuals. I'm enthusiastic about taking this platform to greater heights by expanding on the design and functionality of each feature Studio Study offers, to better aid students in advancing their academic pursuits.

Key Takeaways

Design with intent. Early in the research phase, pinpointing my design’s value was challenging due to existing platforms. Revisiting user feedback clarified their needs, shaping the design. Embrace starting over: major changes from initial prototypes, like color and font adjustments, led to a complete redesign, ensuring the best user experience.
